Branded vs non-branded visibility

Your AuraScore now counts only prompts that don't name a brand. Prompts that name one move to a new Branded view. Expect a one-time score change.

Your AuraScore now shows how often AI assistants name your brand when nobody asked about it.

What changed

Every prompt is now marked branded or non-branded.

  • Branded — the prompt names a brand, yours or a rival's. Like "Is PingAura good for enterprise SEO?"
  • Non-branded — a general question that names no brand. Like "best AI visibility tools for B2B SaaS"

If a prompt names a brand, that brand almost always gets mentioned. Counting those made scores look higher than they were, and made the competitor list less useful. Every brand wins its own prompts.

So your AuraScore, Top Competitors and Share of Voice now use non-branded prompts only. Branded prompts have their own score under the Branded toggle on the Visibility page.

Your score will change once

The next run re-checks your existing prompts. Any that name a brand move to Branded and drop out of your main score.

Your visibility did not drop. The score just answers a tighter question now.

Your chart will show a step at that run. Points before and after it measure slightly different things. This settles after one run.

We also pause score alerts for that run, so you won't get a "visibility dropped" email about it.

What to do

  • Open Visibility and switch between Non-branded and Branded.
  • On the Prompts page, use the Type filter and look for the Branded badge.
  • Want branded prompts? Tick Include branded prompts when you run prompt research.
