WebMCP is a draft way for websites to show AI assistants what they can do on a page. A store, for example, could make product search available as a clear action instead of leaving an assistant to work it out from the page layout.
The website must still check what the person is allowed to do and ask for confirmation before important actions.
WebMCP is still a draft, so browser support and details may change. Unlike a standard MCP connection to a separate service, it makes actions available from the website the person is using.
