ChatGPT Ads Cost Estimator

Turn a monthly budget into clicks, conversions and a cost per conversion

Your ad account's currency is locked when the account is created and cannot be changed later.

The minimum daily budget is set per market, so this changes the floor below.

ChatGPT Ads also offers oCPC, which optimises toward conversions at a CPC price.

Take this from your analytics rather than guessing.

At your stated conversion rate.

Cost per conversion

$150to$250

Compare this against what a conversion is worth to you.

A planning range, not a rate card. OpenAI publishes no performance benchmarks for ChatGPT Ads and says so; the price bands here are its own recommended opening CPC and the CPM range reported through the beta. Your real numbers depend on the auction, your creative and the prompts you compete on.

OpenAI publishes no performance benchmarks for ChatGPT Ads and says so plainly, which is why most cost pages quote a single confident number that nobody can source. This estimator does the opposite: it works in ranges, built from OpenAI's own recommended opening CPC and the CPM band reported through the beta, and it flags when a budget falls under the minimum daily campaign spend the Ads API actually enforces.

See the click and conversion range a monthly budget buys under both CPC and CPM pricing.
Get warned when your budget falls below the minimum daily campaign spend the OpenAI Ads API rejects.
Work out a cost per conversion you can weigh against what a conversion is actually worth to you.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much do ChatGPT Ads cost in 2026?

There is no fixed price: ChatGPT Ads runs an auction, with CPC, CPM and oCPC bidding. OpenAI recommends opening at 3.00 to 5.00 per click, and CPMs reported through the beta clustered around 60 at launch and eroded toward 25 over the following weeks. OpenAI publishes no official benchmarks, so treat any single quoted figure with suspicion, this page's included, and plan in ranges.

Is there a minimum spend for ChatGPT Ads?

The 50,000 minimum that applied to the managed beta was dropped when self-serve opened on 5 May 2026. There is still a floor at the campaign level: the Ads API refuses a daily campaign budget below 25 units of your account currency, which works out at roughly 750 a month if you run every day. Some markets also carry their own published minimums.

What is oCPC and should I use it?

oCPC is conversion-optimised cost per click: you pay per click, but delivery is optimised toward the conversions you report rather than toward clicks. It needs conversion data to work with, so it suits an account that already has tracking in place and some delivery history, not a brand-new campaign on day one.

Why does this tool give a range instead of a number?

Because a number would be made up. Your real cost depends on the auction, your creative, and which prompts you are competing to appear against. The bands here come from OpenAI's own recommended opening CPC and reported beta CPMs, which is the most that can honestly be said before your account has delivery history of its own.

What currency are these figures in?

Your ad account's own currency, which is locked when the account is created and cannot be changed later. The bands are quoted as plain units rather than dollars, because the same figures are applied per currency.
