Set up Cloudflare for AI Traffic
Connect Cloudflare Bot Analytics to track AI crawlers and bot traffic before they reach your site.
Cloudflare Bot Analytics helps PingAura measure AI crawlers and edge-observed bot traffic before they hit your origin. Availability depends on your plan tier. Use the steps below to add your domain, create an API token, and connect it to PingAura.
Before you begin
- An active Cloudflare account.
- Your domain added to the platform (zone created).
- Ability to update nameservers at your registrar.
Add your domain
- Onboard your domain in the dashboard and review your DNS records.
- Update your domain's nameservers to the assigned nameservers.
- Complete SSL/TLS setup so traffic remains secure.

Create an API token
- Go to Dashboard > My Profile > API Tokens (or Manage Account > API Tokens) and select Create Token.
- Create a Custom Token and add these permissions (required to read zone and analytics data):
- Account - Account Analytics - Read
- Zone - Zone - Read
- Zone - Analytics - Read
- Restrict the token to the zone(s) you want to connect.
- Create the token and copy it — the secret is shown once. Store it securely.
Learn more: Create API token.
Connect to PingAura
- In PingAura, open the AI Traffic page for your domain and switch to the Cloudflare tab.
- Click Setup Cloudflare Integration and paste your API token into the dialog.
- Click Connect API Token — the token is verified automatically and the connection is confirmed.
- After connecting, select your zone from the dropdown in the Cloudflare tab header. PingAura auto-matches your domain to the correct zone; you can override it if needed.
Data Latency
- Bot analytics data can take several hours to update, depending on your plan and zone.
