Connect Google Trends (Alpha)
Surface what's currently trending on Google Search in 42 countries directly inside the AI Coworker. Alpha, included on every paid plan, no setup required.
Google Trends is available as an alpha integration, included at no extra cost on every paid plan. Once enabled, the AI Coworker can pull live trending data — top and rising-breakout searches by country — on demand.
Alpha: the feature works end-to-end today, but more capabilities (per-term interest over time, related queries, multi-term comparison) are still in development. Expect quick changes based on feedback during this period.
Before you begin
- Any paid PingAura plan. The Free plan does not include Google Trends during alpha.
- Nothing else. No API keys, no OAuth, no domain verification.
Connect
- Go to Integrations in PingAura.
- Find the Google Trends card under the Analytics category.
- Click Enable.
That's it. The AI Coworker can immediately call the get_trending_topics tool when you ask about trending searches.
What you can ask the Coworker
The Coworker has access to a tool — get_trending_topics — that accepts a country (ISO 2-letter code), a mode (top or rising), and an optional lookback window. Some examples:
- "What's trending in India right now?"
- "Show me breakout searches in the US over the last 14 days."
- "Top 30 searches in Germany this week — any of them relevant to our domain?"
- "Compare top trending terms in the UK and Canada for the last 7 days."
The Coworker returns a ranked list of terms with their score (top mode) or percent gain (rising mode), the week they trended, and the snapshot date.
Data freshness and coverage
- Refresh cadence: trending data is refreshed daily.
- Countries: 42 countries are covered for international top and rising terms, including the US, India, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Brazil, Japan, and most major markets.
- Time window: queries default to the last 7 days; the tool accepts 1–30 days.
- Result size: 1–50 terms per query, defaulting to 20.
Privacy
- The integration reads aggregated public trending data only — nothing about your domain or your audience is sent out.
- Tool calls contain only the country code, mode, lookback window, and limit. No PII.
- Results are cached briefly inside PingAura to avoid duplicate work within a single Coworker conversation.
Limits during alpha
- Interest-over-time for a specific term (e.g. "how is 'ai seo' trending over the past 12 months?") is not yet available. On the roadmap.
- Related queries for an arbitrary term are not yet available. On the roadmap.
- Multi-term comparison (e.g. brand vs. competitor) is not yet available. On the roadmap.
When those features land, they will join the same Google Trends integration — no second integration to configure.
Troubleshooting
"No trending terms found for country=XX in the last N day(s)"
The country code may be outside the 42-country coverage during alpha. Try a major market (US, GB, IN, DE, BR, JP) to confirm the integration is working, then check whether your target country is in the supported list. If it isn't, let us know — it helps us prioritise.
Save / setup is not asking for credentials
That's expected. There are no credentials to configure during alpha — just click Enable and you're done.
