Prompts
Add, import and organise the questions PingAura tracks, find new ones with Prompt Research, and see how each prompt is doing on every AI engine.
Prompts are the questions PingAura asks AI engines on your behalf. The right prompts make every number in PingAura meaningful, so it is worth a few minutes to get them right.
Open Prompts from AI Visibility in the sidebar.
What makes a good prompt
- Write it the way a customer would ask it, not the way your website describes you. "Which payroll software works for a 20-person company in India?" beats "payroll SaaS".
- Leave your brand out of most prompts. Prompts that name no brand are Non-branded, and they show the visibility you have earned. See AI Visibility for the three prompt types.
- Group prompts into topics that match how you think about your market, such as product lines or customer problems. Topics become a filter everywhere in PingAura.
Find prompts with Prompt Research
Prompt Research suggests prompts for you, based on your brand and market.

PingAura runs new prompts across every AI engine on your plan in the next run.
Add or import prompts yourself
Click Create prompts to add prompts in other ways:
- Add New: type one prompt, choose its topic, and optionally a Region if the question is about a specific market.
- Create with AI: describe what you want and let PingAura write prompts for you.
- Import CSV: upload a file with a
promptcolumn and atopiccolumn. Aregioncolumn is optional; leave it empty to use your domain's market. Other columns are ignored, except custom filter columns on Enterprise. - Export CSV: download all your prompts with their topics and filters.
How many prompts you can track depends on your plan.
The prompt list
Tracked prompts lists every prompt with its visibility, Share of Voice and topic. Above it, Topics overview summarises each topic.
- Each prompt shows an intent: Comparison, Pricing, How-to, Alternatives, Troubleshooting, Review, Definition or Best for. Use the intent chips to filter.
- Prompt Volume estimates how many people search for the topic behind a prompt each month. It is in beta, so treat it as a rough guide to which prompts matter most, not an exact count.

Optimize this prompt
Optimize this prompt checks why you might be missing from the answers and what to do about it. Each run uses one opportunity credit. Opportunity credits are shared with Playbook discovery runs, and how many you get depends on your plan.
- Page readiness: the pages on your site that best answer this prompt, and anything stopping AI engines from reading them, such as a robots.txt block. Pages need to be tracked in Site Health to be checked.
- Top cited sites: the third-party sites AI engines cite most for this prompt over the last 60 days, with a suggested action for each. Generate draft writes a first draft of that action, such as an outreach email.
Results older than 7 days are marked so you know to run it again.
